Long Staple Superabsorbent Fibres (SAF™)
These fibres are typically used within Carded Fabrics – Needlepunch, Thermobonds – or Spun Yarns
Our Long Staple SAF™ is typically 52mm’s or 80mm’s in length and absorb aqueous fluids rapidly. It provides a good balance of gel quality and absorbency properties, particularly under load, and is suitable for a wide range of applications.
These longer fibres are typically used within Needlepunch or Thermobond Fabrics where they are blended with other synthetic or natural fibres.
80mm is the longest we produce and these fibres are more suited to the yarn spinning process and again can be blended with a range of synthetic or natural fibres to add strength and additional functionality
