EMPLOYEE & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our people are central to the continued success and growth of the business. We actively promote and deliver a safe, sustainable and rewarding working environment, where everyone’s individual contributions to the wider business objectives are understood, welcomed and valued. We also encourage our people to support local and global communities and sponsor relevant initiatives.

TALENT ATTRACTION, RETENTION & DEVELOPMENT

The recruitment, retention and development of talented individuals is key to the ongoing success and growth of our business and is reflected in the Strategic Goals for our People. We believe in having the right people, in the right roles, with the right skills, for a fair reward and are committed to continuous development in conjunction with diligent succession planning. Projecting this externally through our recruitment processes and community engagement is key to ensuring new and existing talent is committed to the same principles.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING

We fully encourage and support training and development across the business, releasing the potential of all employees and allowing them to realise individual career aspirations and personal growth. We place a high value on local talent, enhancing community engagement by implementing a wide range of Apprenticeships across the business from Process and Engineering to Finance and IT.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

We seek to reflect our regions diversity within our workforce. As a business operating within the global Sinochem Group, we recognise the value that different backgrounds and cultures can bring to the business and how this can contribute to our ongoing success.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITIES

We proactively engage with our local and global community via a range of funding/sponsorship projects, and by providing schools and universities with access to collaboration opportunities.

We have supported a junior football team for the past two seasons and continues to provide sponsorship for its training kits. We also work together to raise money during the year for a number of charities, including McMillan Cancer Support, The Mental Health Foundation and Comic Relief. We most recently made a significant donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee, which is supporting relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Most recently we have begun supporting a UK charity that funds menstrual hygiene workshops for groups of young girls in Tanzania. This includes providing sponsorship and attending some of the workshops, funding new sewing machines and providing much needed fabric so that reusable period products can be made.
