Super Absorbent Waterproof Membranes

Our self-healing fleece/needlefelt fabrics – you can browse these below – provide a thin, cost-effective extra layer of protection against below grade water entry in structural waterproofing applications. When adhered to an HDPE waterproof layer, they provide a Super Absorbent Type A solution for use within structural waterproofing applications.

Our super absorbent fabrics can be laminated to a HDPE waterproof membranes to provide an extra self-healing layer of insurance against water ingress for below ground level structures, e.g. basements and underground car parks. 

Should the HDPE waterproof membranes be breached, the self-healing properties in the fleece/needlepunch means it will swell upon contact with groundwater and block any holes. This stops any further water from entering the structure. Our fabrics are already being used in such absorbent structural waterproofing products that are compliant to BS8102. 

These super absorbent waterproof membranes can also be used in products that need to satisfy BS 8485 to protect against the penetration of ground gases, specifically methane, CO2 and radon. 

We have our own Needle Punch Nonwoven Line and can manufacture fabrics at relatively small MOQ’s, at a range of weights between 100-1,000gsm. If you require absorbency, up to 80% SAF™ content can be achieved. Laminates and other finishes are also possible. They are sold on rolls at widths of up to 2.0m and can be slit narrower if required. 

We have a large selection of Needle Punch Nonwoven Fabrics readily available to sample, and can develop bespoke Needle Punch materials if required.
