West End Debut for Super Absorbent Fabrics!

Sometimes an enquiry comes in, or someone buys a sample, that creates a level of intrigue. This was one of them! Last month, an order was placed online for a relatively large sample of one of our superabsorbent washable materials, which sparked curiosity in the office. The delivery address stated the Vaudeville Theatre, in London’s West End. Upon enquiring if the sample had been received OK, the customer – Carol Attenburgh, Head of Wardrobe – indeed confirmed that the fabric was being used as part of an absorbent costume liner by the cast of ‘SIX the Musical’.

Our superabsorbent fabrics are already used commercially for sweat management and evaporative cooling, and so the fact that they are working well as a costume liner makes sense. The fact that they are being used daily in a West End Production, just makes it a little more exciting! 🙂

“The costumes we use are made out of plastic,” said Carol,  “which leads to some rather sweaty cast members. To help protect the costumes, we’ve encased the fabric in some lightweight cotton to create washable absorbent liners. We’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now and it’s definitely helping the sweat not soak through to the main body of the costume. So far, so good!”
