We were contacted by a company operating within the structural waterproofing sector. They wanted to add an extra layer of superabsorbent insurance to one of their roll goods already being sold into the construction market. This would provide them with a unique product offering that would add additional value to their customers.
After some initial tests using needlefelt, fleece-like fabrics that we had readily available, the results they were seeing were extremely encouraging. We then engaged in developing them a fabric that was more tailored to meet their specific requirements. This fabric was developed on our own needlepunch line and was a blend of our Super Absorbent Fibre and other synthetic components.
The relationship has continued to go from strength-to-strength and our technical team continues to work closely with the customer to consider ongoing product development.
