How Powerful Could a Hybrid Self-Healing Fabric Be?

We do not know the full answer...yet

But with our combined knowledge, expertise and technologies, we believe we can discover it together. That’s why we’re inviting you to explore it with us.

Bentonite products are well-established within the geo sector, providing trusted absorbency performance. Our Super Absorbent Fibres (SAF™) are lightweight, offer rapid uptake, excellent fluid retention and can be processed into a wide range of nonwovens.

Our early trials suggest that creating a hybrid bentonite/SAF™ fabric could result in a revolutionary industry solution. The real insights will only come from working closely with people who have the expertise in this area and learning together.

Please take a moment to watch the short video below, which highlights our early tests and findings. If this sparks interest, we’d welcome a conversation about exploring hybrid development.

The SAF™ Advantage

Up to 10 x Lighter

SAF™ based fabrics offer high absorbency without the weight typically associated with traditional water-blocking bentonite-containing materials.

Their structure allows for efficient fluid uptake and retention while maintaining a significantly lower mass.

This makes SAF™ an attractive option where reduced weight, easier handling, or improved flexibility of the final product is important.

Cleaner

Unlike some particulate absorbents, SAF™ fabrics create minimal dust and do not release fines during handling or processing.

The construction keeps the liquid locked in, whilst helping void absorbent voids and maintain a cleaner environment.

No Shedding

Because SAF™ is integrated into a stable nonwoven or composite structure, the material remains intact throughout use.

It does not shed particles or break down under stress.

This makes SAF™ fabrics reliable in applications where material integrity is essential and unwanted debris could cause performance or operational issues.
