Technical Absorbents (TAL) is delighted to have received not one, but two awards at this year’s Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards – organised by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce.
Held virtually, the event attracted a number of local businesses who were shortlisted for awards across a number of different categories. Technical Absorbents is delighted to have taken home the International Trade Award, sponsored by Phillips 66, and the Forrester Boyd Business of The Year Award.
The Grimsby-based Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF™) manufacturer employs 50 people and exports account for over 98% of its sales. It continues to be the global leader in the production of a superabsorbent fibre and successfully commercialises new customers – for both fibre and fabric – year-on-year.
Its largest overseas markets are North America and Europe, with emergent volumes into China and the rest of the world. However, interest in its SAF™ technology is truly international with development programmes using its fibre, fabrics and yarns ongoing with companies located in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Singapore and Brazil – to name just a few.
“We chose to enter the award for International Trade following a successful year in 2019,” explains General Manager & Director Mike Parkington. “Since then, we have continued to operate safely 24/7 – even during the challenges of the past 12-months with a significant proportion of the team working from home”.
